María Luisa
I am an award-winning composer-performer based in London. I work as a pianist and choir director, and as a freelance composer specialising in piano works and soundtracks.
Production
My productions have been performed in festivals including Bloomsbury Festival and the Festival Latinoamericano de Música. To date, I have commissioned over thirty composers and more than twenty works of art from painters, photographers, dancers and actors. My compositions, in collaboration with other artists, have been performed at venues including the Southbank Centre. I also enjoy working with film directors both as a composer and as a recording pianist, recently being awarded Best Soundtrack at the Berlin Short Film Festival.
Education
I have been lucky to meet and study with some outstanding musicians, including Elena Riu, Peter Tuite, John Ashton Thomas, Natasa Paulberg, Errollyn Wallen MBE and Douglas Finch. In 2020, I graduated with First Class (Hons) from a double major in composition and piano at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. In October 2022, I graduated from an MMUS (Performance) at the Royal Academy of Music with Distinction and the DipRAM Award. Currently, I am pursuing an MSc in Psychological Sciences to support my work in education.

I have won over ten prizes in national and international competitions, both as a Pianist and as a Composer. These are some of the prizes I am most proud of:
